CLUB RACE RULES
1. Entry forms together with all fees payable must be in the hands of the General Secretary before liberation time, or race sheets that are posted to the General Secretary must bear a postmark timed before liberation takes place. Any Entry Forms/Race Sheets that arrive after this time shall be returned and members concerned advised that their Entry Forms/Race Sheets have not been accepted.
2. That all competing members must fill in all details required on each race sheet. Failure to do so will result in your race sheet not being accepted.
3. When birds are entered for a National Race under the ETS only pool birds are entered on the official National Entry form. However a summary of all birds entered in the National race together with the correct distance for the race with the correct race code and a summary of the total cost of bird entry plus pools must be completed on the entry sheet and signed in the normal way. In the event of a fancier sending some of his birds in the club or fed only, the national birds must be entered first on the ETS printout sheet. Should a mix-up or mistake be made on the night of basketing any birds not competing in the national must be clearly marked Club or Fed only on the ETS sheet.
4. That in the event of a mistake being made at any clock or marking station, necessitating an alteration on a race sheet etc then the General Secretary must be informed.
5. That all races on the club program will close when the velocity falls below 220 yards per minute.
6. That the hours of darkness for the Old Bird National Races shall be 22.30 hours to 04.30 hours, except races over 550 miles, then hours of darkness to be 22.00 Hours to 05.00Hours.
7. When liberated with any other organization, the WSRNFC will adhere to the hours of darkness of the convoying organization.
8. That the hours of darkness for young bird National races shall be 21.00 hours to 6.00 hours.
9. That all section and open pools will be paid out One in Fifteen after 10% has been deducted for club funds. To indicate which pools you wish to enter, place a cross(X) in the appropriate column/s on your race sheet.
10. That the percentage deducted for club funds from pool money shall be deducted from each pool prize when the number of prizes are known and not beforehand from the combined totals.
11. That all averages must be worked out on total distance/s against total flying time/s.
12. That on National Races members must phone in within sixty (60) minutes of clocking their first bird stating their Name, National or WS Number, time of bird and Ring Number. Failure to do so will entail disqualification.
13. That the General Secretary shall instruct the nearest available Committee Member or other authorized person to verify any performance they so think requires verification.
14. That the bird making the highest velocity shall be declared the winner, excepting when in the opinion of the committee after having given full consideration to the circumstances and conditions prevailing at the time, a pigeon returns an improbable velocity then that pigeon be disqualified from the race.
15. That all claims and/or objections with reference to any race results must be made in writing to the General Secretary within fourteen(14) days of the publication of that race result.
16. Members must claim for the Gold Cup/Runner Up and Margaret Bennett Memorial Trophy. All other averages will be calculated by the Race Secretary and published with the appropriate race result.
17. That diplomas shall be awarded to the first thirty birds in the Open result and to the first ten birds in each section result if not already awarded an Open Diploma. This to apply to National races only.
18. That the club shall advertise each result through as many channels in the press as is possible.
19. That while every care will be taken by the committee of the birds while in their charge, it must be clearly understood that all birds will be accepted only at their owner’s risk.
